Tuition Info

Private Tuition

Tuition is available on any instrument to pupils of all ages or standards in and around Leeds. We also have tutors available for singing lessons, history of music, composition, theory and aural. We offer all styles, including jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Exams

We can help students who wish to work towards practical and theory graded examinations, music diplomas or GCSE / AS / A Level music examinations. We experience a high exam rate of merits and distinctions (see our Latest News page for the most recent statistics) and there are frequent music scholarships to senior schools gained by our pupils. Of course, we also cater for those who wish to play for enjoyment only!

Tutors

Roundhay Music tutors are carefully selected from interview and audition as highly qualified teachers and experienced professional players specialising in their own particular instrument. All tutors have enhanced disclosures from the Disclosure & Barring Service.

Arranging Lessons

All tuition is arranged on an individual basis, tailored to the pupil’s requirements, both musically and logistically. Our fees are kept at the most reasonable level possible with both pupil and tutor in mind.

A consultation lesson is always made before routine lessons are booked so that there is no obligation until you have been introduced to a tutor and are happy with arrangements.

If you would like to arrange or discuss lessons with Roundhay Music, please use the ‘Contact Us' page to submit an enquiry and we will respond as soon as possible.

Students are readily given guidance on choosing instruments and information on local music clubs and events. Frequent discussions can be held between the directors of Roundhay Music, tutors, parents and pupils regarding the student’s progress and specific needs, so that continued satisfaction is given priority.

Not sure what is the right instrument for you? We always recommend you choose the instrument which you believe makes the nicest sound. For inspiration, or to learn more about the lessons available, please see our What We Offer page.
